Visit from Professor Tuure Tuunanen: A look at Design Science Research

2023/10/05

Last week we had the honor of welcoming Professor Tuure Tuunanen from the University of Jyväskylä. Professor Tuunanen is a renowned researcher and Professor of Information Systems at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. He leads the research group “Value Creation for Cyber-Physical Systems and Services” and the “Finnish Hub for Digitalization”.

During his visit, Professor Tuunanen shared his current research in echeloned Design Science Research. This is a research paradigm that focuses on creating artifacts to solve real-world problems. This iterative process involves the development of artifacts to address practical challenges, followed by an evaluation of their performance. This innovative research paradigm provides not only new insights, but also practical solutions to real-world problems faced by organizations and businesses.

We would like to thank Professor Tuunanen for his inspiring visit. His expertise enriches our work and contributes to the development of innovative solutions to complex problems. We look forward to future collaboration and further exchange with Professor Tuunanen and his research team.
